These terms cover your use of Dossier, an iOS app published by Silas Apostol. Downloading or using the app means you accept them.
Dossier is not a clinical instrument. It is not a diagnosis, a mental health assessment, medical advice, or a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Do not use it to make decisions about your health, and do not use its output to draw conclusions about anyone else's. If you are struggling, please speak to a professional.
A personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Dossier on devices you own or control. Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement also applies to your download, and where these terms and Apple's disagree, Apple's govern.
Dossier Pro is a single one-time purchase that permanently unlocks the app's paid features on your Apple Account. It is not a subscription. Nothing renews, nothing is billed again, and there is nothing to cancel.
The purchase is processed by Apple. Reinstalling the app and tapping Restore on the paywall restores it at no cost. Prices may change for future buyers; a change never affects a purchase already made.
All purchases go through Apple, so all refunds do too. We cannot issue one directly. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Dossier's scoring is based on the five-factor model and placed against published adult reference data. It is a well-built measurement, not a perfect one. Self-report questionnaires measure how you answer questions on a given day, and a trait sitting near the middle can land differently on a retake. The app says so on its own Method screen. Treat the output as a useful description, not a fact about who you are.
Sharing your code shares your trait scores and the first name you entered, if any, with whoever receives it. That is your decision to make. Once you send a code, we have no ability to recall it, because it never passes through any server we operate.
Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app, and don't use it to harass, screen, evaluate or discriminate against anyone. Dossier is not a hiring tool, a screening tool, or a basis for any decision affecting another person's employment, housing, insurance, credit, or care.
Dossier is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability arising out of your use of Dossier is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
These terms may be updated as the app changes. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continuing to use the app after an update means accepting it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
